Sherborne Cottages and Apartments only lists properties that we own which offers many important advantages for our clients with regard to cleanliness, confirmations, flexability etc as well as responding and attending to any enquiries you make both during the planning and duration of your holiday.

FLAT 3 – PRINTERS COURT, CHEAP STREET

Our flagship property contains a magnificent spacious Lounge/Dining Room and a long balcony overlooking Cheap St. with two bedrooms and sleeps up to six.

Printers Court is one of the most attractive of the many splendid properties that are found on historic Cheap Street, the main thoroughfare that winds through the centre of Sherborne. Printers Court was originally built in 1842, although it has a Georgian appearance and its most distinctive features are a splendid curved window and a balcony that runs the length of the building. Historic photos show these balconies were very popular on Cheap Street in the 19th Century but today few survive. Both the splendid window and the balcony belong in their entirety to Flat 3 so you can relax on the balcony, enjoying your coffee looking down on the comings and goings below, (including the market on Thursdays and Saturdays) and admiring the splendid buildings up and down Cheap St.

Printers Court is part of a row of houses known as The Parade as the buildings are set back so Cheap Street can widen as it approaches the market area. Although located at the front of the building, the apartment has no traffic noise as Cheap Street is pedestrianised during the day and not a main traffic thoroughfare at night.

The building has a passageway entry through a distinctive cast iron gateway to the entrance at the rear and Flat 3 is located entirely on the first floor after you ascend a flight of stairs.

Accommodation

Flat 3 contains what is probably the most spacious lounge/dining room to be found in any Sherborne apartment, which immediately conveys a very luxurious feel. With two leather settees, a coffee table, a large dining table that can seat 8 and a sofabed the room still has a very spacious feel.

There are two bedrooms, one with a Queen sized double bed and the other with two single beds. In addition the apartment contains a Bathroom/WC with a shower over the bath and a large kitchen. The kitchen contains an everything you would need and expect for self catered accommodation: an oven, four hobs, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and a plentiful range of cupboards, cutlery, crockery, etc. The property is heated by Gas Central heating (included).

The apartment contains a 42” plasma television with Freeview, DVD/VHS player, a plentiful collection of DVDs, video tapes and books. We also provide a folder of local information, flyers and pamphlets and a selection of books on the local area.

This property sleeps 6 using the large sofa bed, which will be made up if required. It is a five minute walk to both Sainsburys and Somerfields or there are several smaller delecatesins and health food shops located within a few minutes walk also. There is a plentiful array of restaurants and tea/coffee shops in very close proximity to Printers Court and your morning paper is readily available from the town newsagent on the Ground Floor of Printers Court! There is also an attractive and secluded rear garden shared by the four apartments in Printers Court.

Parking

On street parting outside the building is available from 5.30pm to 9.00am and on Sundays. The long stay car park is a five minute walk away and for arrivals before 5.30pm on a weekday you can park about 70 yards away for unloading and our staff can help you carry your bags to the apartment.

FLAT 2 – PRINTERS COURT, CHEAP STREET

A unique and pleasing layout split over two floors. With two bedrooms and views over the red rooftops of Sherborne's historic disctrict to the Abbey. Sleeps 4.

TEACHER’S COTTAGE, 6 ACREMAN STREET


A small terraced cottage close to the centre of Sherborne containing a delightful attic area with views to the Abbey. Sleeps 4 (+1)

Teacher’s Cottage was in a sorry state when acquired by LPI from Sherborne School. However, our building team have supervised a masterful renovation and refurbishment that has resulted in a brand new conversion of a period terrace cottage. Teacher’s Cottage is located close to Sherborne School and just a few minutes walk from the magnificent Abbey and shops on Cheap Street. There are a number of historic inns and eating options within a five minute walk.

Accommodation

Teacher’s Cottage has an open plan ground floor with a Lounge/Diner opening onto a brand new Shaker Kitchen full of new appliances – oven, dishwasher microwave, fridge etc. The property is heated by Gas Central heating (included) and contains two bedrooms, one double and one with bunkbeds, and the attic has been converted into a mezzanine area overlooking the main bedroom. This provides a perfect working area with a built-in folding table and magnificent views over Sherborne towards the Abbey. There is a vertical (ship-like) ladder to this area from the main area where we can provide a camp bed for a 5th person to sleep. Otherwise there is the perfect space for the busy professional who cannot go on holiday without taking some work along! There is a brand new Bathroom/WC with a shower above the new bathroom suite.

The apartment contains a television with Freeview, DVD player and a plentiful collection of DVDs and books. We also provide a folder of local information, flyers and pamphlets and a selection of books on the local area.

This holiday cottage sleeps 4 (+1 if using the mezzanine as a sleeping area) and it is about a seven minute walk to Sainsburys.

On street parking is available, subject to space, opposite Teacher’s Cottage and on surrounding streets. Alternatively, two long stay car parks are situated within a 10 minute walk

52 Cheap Street is the newest addition to the Sherborne Cottages & Apartments family. This immaculately furnished one-bedroom apartment is situated just a bit further up the main street from Printers Court and overlooks Sherborne’s beautiful Methodist Church.

With it’s own private entrance nestled between two small shops on Sherborne’s main shopping street, this first floor apartment is bright and spacious. It has been recently refurbished to make a large open plan living area that is flooded with light. The accommodation is made up of a master bedroom with a king size bed and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, a bathroom with shower over the bath and a large open plan living/kitchen/dining area.

The living room and master bedroom look out over the front of the building and onto Sherborne’s classically rustic high street whilst at the rear of the property there is a large outdoor roof terrace perched just above the grounds of Sherborne Methodist Church and has beautiful views across the trees and rooftops of Sherborne’s Historic district to the famous Abbey. This spacious roof terrace is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine during the Summer months or to enjoy a peaceful meal in the evenings.

The apartment sleeps two guests in the master bedroom with the option of a folding bed or air mattress in the living area. The property also has the added bonus of being the only one of our apartments to accept pets!

As with all of our properties, 52 Cheap Street has a large television with DVD player and a selection of books, DVDs and games available for guests to use. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the crockery, cutlery, utensils and equipment you would need or expect from a self-catered property.
